Meet Liz

I am a U.S. Army combat Veteran turned Army wife and mother to two boisterous boys and one shelter pup (who provide endless content about overcoming messes). I enjoy quiet mornings spent with God while savoring a hot cup of sweet coffee…and if I can have those things with a beach view, all the better!

I met my husband in one of those countries I wouldn’t have chosen to visit – a “Jonah moment,” if you will. Three international moves later, we planned our wedding from a war zone in Balad, Iraq. After the birth of our first son, I traded my boots and uniform for cute sandals and a craft apron. Matt continues to serve God and country, while I manage the home-front.

One of the most valuable things I’ve learned on this side of the uniform is the importance of a strong community to be the arms of God when I cannot stand on my own. I’d be lost without the Army wives who have become my sisters.

Raised in an encouraging, Christian home where education was valued, I set high goals for myself from my youth and did what was necessary to achieve them. I graduated from West Point and served on Active Duty in the Army for nearly 10 years, living in 6 countries and 7 states.

Along the way, I stumbled through a whole bunch of messy stuff. But finding God’s beauty underneath those scratches, dents, and dings is my most beloved discovery. That’s why I’m passionate about connecting women through crafts and encouraging them to overcome their messes, embrace their memories, and become the masterpieces God created them to be.

I’m still driven, but now I let God lead the way. I’m thrilled that you would want to join me on the journey.

  1. Hello. Your baby’s groomer here. I finally got a moment to read your blog. And all I can say is thank you. Your testimony is amazing and it is so nice to know that our wonderful Lord knows what’s best for us. Even when we kick and scream (not that we would ever do that) the whole way. I hope your week is amazing and I can’t wait to see your next post. 🙂

  5. I have to say this Army Gal was so impressed to see the 1st sentence of your introduction! And you love Jesus! I married my Army man, too, had a shelter pup, and raised a quiet sweet natured young man (who decided to go “blue” instead of “green”. ) Never played in the sand but planned for those that did, to include my Army Man!
Sisters in boots….military wives who poured into me too… what a great intro!
