I have long been amazed by the wonder of God’s world. Join me today as I look to the heavens and the earth for a fresh sense of wonder!

The Wonder of God’s World
“In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.”
Genesis 1:1
This is the very first thing God wants us to know about Him.
Creation. Could anything be more awe-inspiring than our God who created the universe from nothing. Who by the power of His voice brought something from nothing.
Light divided from
“He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.”
Psalm 147:4
The way the sun rises and sets in perfect rhythm and God creates breathtaking beauty from the refraction of light through the pollution we produce. From the strength of an ant able to carry many many
“Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are not ye of much more value than they?”
Matthew 6:25
The way water can cut through stone over time creating a new path for itself. From the invisible to the naked eye bacteria capable of incapacitating a grown man to the enormously powerful super-storms. From the tiniest of snowflakes that only fall under perfect conditions but can band together in drifts bigger than houses to the inter-workings of the plant and animal kingdoms required to pollinate flowers and produce produce. The swiftness of a cheetah, the majesty of a lion, and the gracefulness of a giraffe.
God’s World Continues to WOW
And what a wonderful display of God’s glory and beauty He blessed us with earlier this week in the Lunar eclipse! Even three tween boys at my house were interested enough in the show God put on in the middle of the night Sunday to tear themselves away from their devices, at least briefly! My friends Scot and Elizabeth Keith captured these images of that event.
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.”
Psalm 19:1
Why God Created
That doesn’t even begin to take into account the wonder of creating a new human life, the perfectly timed merging of egg and sperm and the combining of DNA to create unique characteristics. Or the honor of being called mother as that new life forms within my womb and the bliss of finally meeting that unique creature who instinctively knows God has called me to love and nurture this life as it continues to grow now outside the safety of my body. Or the way my body knows to produce the ideal food to promote health.
The number of photos of flowers and moss and rocks on my cell phone scream of my infatuation with nature. And when I stop to ponder that the same Creator who created and sustains this planet I call home created me, I am filled anew with WONDER. But also with a desire to do as they were created to do and point to the glory of God for all to see!
He created all this, including us, for His glory. So that we might know Him. Trust Him. Love Him.
God’s Glory Challenge
Won’t you join me this week in pointing to God’s glory in creation by posting some WONDERful pictures of His creation on your social media accounts with a #godsglory, so that we all might be reminded of the purpose for which He

I love your insight here. The first thing God wantednus to know about himself is that he created everything from nothing. It’s interesting because Genesis wasn’t the first book written, but it comes first in our canon of scripture.
Fascinating, right! I love the way God’s Word works! Blessings, Erin!
Beautiful thoughts and beautiful shots! ❤️
Thanks, Vickie! Blessings!
I love taking pictures of flowers. So much so I’m thinking about starting a separate Instagram account. Your flower pictures are beautiful. A gorgeous display of God’s creativity.
Me, too, Evelyn! As if you couldn’t tell! LOL That would be an account I’d follow for sure! Blessings!
Beautiful post and pictures. We missed the eclipse, so thank you for sharing the pictures taken by your friends.
Oh, I would have missed it, too, but the boys had a friend spending the night so we were up late anyway! They surprised me by enjoying it more than I thought they would! 😉 Blessings!
